Tom Cochrane starts next season at River Run Center

“There is a lot of diversity, I hope, in the program. There really is something for everyone, and I hope they think so too,” says the facility manager about the 2022/2023 season’s performance

Music, laughter, cheers and award-winning artists are expected at the River Run Center as the venue is back for the 2022 to 2023 season.

This season, the River Run Center celebrates its 25th anniversary after opening on October 4, 1997.

“It’s been three years since we last held a season launch event and to quote the title of a Grateful Dead album What a long strange trip it has been. The journey continues, ”said Bill Nuhn, facility manager for the River Run Center. “We’re excited about having shows with 100 percent capacity since March.

“There is a lot of diversity, I hope, in the program. There really is something for everyone, and I hope they think so too,” Nuhn said of the upcoming season.

There are a number of series – two music series, a comedy series, family series, life stories, children’s concerts and an exhibition series.

Canadian singer Tom Cochrane will finally perform on October 1 after being reorganized from February 2022 due to COVID restrictions. Tickets are already 50 percent sold.

“I’m excited to announce that the tenors, originally known as the Canadian tenors, will be performing here on Saturday, October 8,” Nuhn said. “For such a world-class group, we need a world-class venue. Without all the hard work from society that led to the doors opening 25 years ago. Instead of ‘go big or go home’, we can go big International superstars right at the door. ”

The River Run Center will feature performances from a number of Juno Award winners such as Tenors, Serena Ryder, William Prince, Lawrence Gowan and more.

Part of the comedy series will feature comedian Ali Hassan with his show called Does This Taste Funny?

“Sweet Guelph, my name is Ali Hassan. How are you? I want to tell you that you have given me so much over the years. I have made good friends out of Guelph. I have gone on some amazing walks in Guelph,” he said. Hassan in a video message to River Run Center. Hassan is due to perform on January 22nd.

“When we reopened in March, we opened with a complete list of events. It has been a very busy spring. It looks to be an incredibly busy fall and also next winter and spring. We are so happy to have shows back at full capacity. “Said Nuhn.
