Swamp Thing Summer: Hot Wheels Unleashed July DLC goes full throttle in Retro

As we approach the end of Hot Wheels Unleashed’s DLC run, yet another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles car has been added to the available list along with some retro items.

Want to take a trip down memory lane this summer? Hot Wheels Unleashed’s monthly update from July takes you on a tour of nostalgia with the latest DLC available now in digital stores.

The fresh move features the monstrous superhero, Swamp Thing, who first appeared in DC Comics House of Secrets # 92 in July 1971, changed to the small car version that looks just as slimy with iridescent green paint.

Mattel’s very own blue-skinned humanoid Skeletor, which hides its naked skull under a purple hood, also joins the summer crew in a colorful hot rod version adapted from the Master of the Universe series, which dates back to 1981.

And continuing with the villainous vibe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ arch-enemy, Shredder, who made his comic book debut in 1984, has been crafted into a stunningly sleek silver model with splashes of purple on the car’s rims and hood.

To accompany the three spooky vehicles, a Retro Game Customization Pack will give users the chance to transform their basement into an explosion of the past with 11 unique items, including new wallpapers, decorations and old-fashioned posters to truly relive the 80s.

Unless your Elon Musk, it’s pretty hard to experience floating around in space without gravity. Luckily for the rest of us, Hot Wheels has also released a Zero Gravity Checkpoint module included in the July DLC.
