They them has been sprouting in me my whole life, ”said the film’s author and director John Logan, according to a report from The Wrap. “I’ve loved horror movies for as long as I can remember, I think, because monsters represent ‘the other,’ and as a gay child, I felt a strong sense of kinship with the characters who were different, forbidden, or forbidden. “

“I wanted to make a movie that pays homage to queerness, with characters I never saw when I was growing up,” Logan added. “When people walk away from the movie, I hope they will remember the incredible love that these children have for each other and how that love is to be protected and celebrated.”

The film – which also participates Veep alum Anna Chlumsky, Carrie Preston, Anna Lore, Cooper Koch, Theo Germaine, Quei Tann, Austin Crute, Monique Kim and Darwin del Fabro – are reportedly pronounced “they chop them”, as in a slasher movie.

They themwhich was produced by Blumhouse Productions – the company behind Go out – is set to be released exclusively on Peacock on August 5th.
