[K-Exclusive] EPIK HIGH’s unforgettable nights in Melbourne and Sydney for the Asia Pacific Tour!
First came to Australian shores in 2019, fans of the legends EPIC HIGH everyone wished they would return one day. In July, the group returned with theirs ‘Epic High is Here Asia Pacific Tour 2022’. In the queue, the temperate weather is in the background for hundreds of fans queuing up and chatting around the block at. Forum Melbourne and Enmore Theater in Sydney. The energy grew as you stepped into the standing area with speakers playing the group’s hits.
As the light dimmed, anticipation reached its climax as the audience gathered for their welcome. Beginning with ‘Prequel’ and ‘Fly’, the trio came on stage one by one, supported by cheers after each entrance. To be the young people they are, Table presented his group mates as ‘the father of K-Pop’ and ‘Born from the Han river’ from the Melbourne show, and garnered laughter from the audience. The hyperbolic statements continued as he slowly announced that ‘Epic High is back’ … with an echo effect after every word of DJ Tukutz.
Changing tone, the group performed charismatic numbers like ‘FaceID’, ‘Rosario’and ‘Burj Khalifa’. Their performing abilities were fully showcased as they rapped with effortless slaps and absorbed the audience into a sense of awe and agreement.
With another break, the trio tackled the pandemic that stopped the world and that they in global union have managed to return and gave the audience a boost for our efforts to get through the hard times. In a change of pace, Table mention it Mithra Jin looked at real estate in Sydney during the show because he loved it there.
They brought the vibes back, they sang ‘Super rare’ and ‘Love, love, love’, gives the microphone to us to sing along. The atmosphere was electric as we jumped in harmony with the beat as we all came together as one unified body, let go and enjoyed our time there.
The fun times continued only as the songs continued and Table randomly ends up rapping his section only to jump into Mithra Jins arms, and as they walk down the stage stairs to interact with ornate fans. With a ‘dusty’ talent in dance, DJ Tukutz showcased its crooked dance steps, and water was thrown out of bottles, spraying all the way through the front rows to the delight of all. The festive feeling went sky high at the time ‘High technology’ came around.
Through the madness of the Melbourne show, Table noticed a single Croc and a pen on stage. Assuming the tab wanted it signed, he took a small cue that the shoe was not very important as only one was on stage. But when he in disbelief found out that the tab bought the shoes solely for them to sign, he continued a story that the two shoes would be reunited and live happily ever after. In a cheerfully sarcastic way to avoid other things being thrown away, the group thus signed with Table writes ‘Think about your life’.
As the scene was about to end, the group returned for an extra number from the roaring crowd of fans as hits such as ‘No Thanxxx’ and ‘Born Hater’ brought climax.
The night was an explosion as the group finally ended, waving to the people who have supported their journey to get here. The talk broke afterwards as we all reflected on what the fever dream was happening in the last 90 minutes, and stapled it into our memories until the hopeful next time they come.
