Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is still on the hunt for an opponent this fall.
Parker recently signed a promotional deal with BOXXER and Sky Sports.
The New Zealand boxer was in action back in December when he beat Derek Chisora over twelve rounds for a clear unanimous victory in their rematch.
There was talk at the time of a fight with Olympic silver medalist Joe Joyce, but negotiations fell apart when Parker signed his new promotional deal. Joyce is promoted by Frank Warren, who has an exclusive content deal with rival network BT Sport.
BOXXER’s head, Ben Shalom, wants to give Parker the biggest possible fight and is currently investigating a possible fight with top rival Otto Wallin.
“We are still hopeful about the Dillian Whyte rematch and Joe Joyce is fighting for him, but we have received an offer for him to fight Otto Wallin,” Shalom told Mirror Fighting.
“It’s another thing we’re considering, he also wants the fights with Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz. He will fight anyone and everyone, but in late September or early October he will fight. We are still hopeful to cope with the matches.we identified at the beginning and we think Joseph will perform very well on Sky.We think one of these matches will be announced in the next few weeks. “
Wallin was due to face Dillian Whyte in October last year, but the fight fell apart as Whyte withdrew with injury. He has been busy with two decision wins so far in 2022. Wallin’s only defeat came in the hands of current WBC world champion Tyson Fury in the form of a difficult decision in twelve rounds in September 2019.
