HireVue tries to escape biometric features over AI interviews

HireVue Inc. asked a federal judge in Illinois to drop allegations that it violated the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting face scans of individuals interviewed for positions at companies using HireVue’s automated video interview platform.

Kristen Deyerler and five of her co-plaintiffs allege that HireVue did not obtain their consent before collecting their biometric identifiers, nor did it provide a publicly available data retention and destruction policy as required by law.
