Church offers parking for Pequot Library bookstores and more

Sacred Heart University has named Amanda Shaw of Fairfield as the new Director of Career Education.

She has held similar positions at colleges in New York.

Shaw will be responsible for the planning and execution of services at the Sacred Heart University Center for Career and Professional Development, along with programs, resources, and student engagement strategies for the school’s College of Health Professions.

She will also support the career center’s other initiatives, work with the career team to serve other academic programs at the school, serve internal and external voters and help achieve recruitment and retention goals and other strategic priorities. She will also teach part of the first year experience program.

Shaw earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from William Smith College in Geneva, NY and a master’s degree in the education and administration of college students from The College of Saint Rose in Albany.

Trinity Episcopal Church hosts the ‘Park for Food’ drive

Trinity Episcopal Church will be collecting donations in return for parking for the annual Pequot Library Book Sale

It will host its “Park for Food” drive July 22 to July 24 in its parking lot on the corner of Pequot Avenue and Center Street. Volunteers will help people park there from 8.30am to 5.00pm in exchange for canned food or money donations. All proceeds go to the pantries in Bridgeport.

Trinity is located at 651 Pequot Avenue in Southport.
