BI will be the first K-pop star to appear at ‘Grammys Global Spin’ | K-pop movie news

Korean singer BI is set to hit the Grammy stage at the upcoming ‘Global Spin’ concert.

According to the latest reports, hunk will be the first K-Pop star to make a solo appearance at the digital concert series airing on January 4th.

‘Grammys Global Spin’ is a concert series produced by the Recording Academy to promote global music. In an effort to promote diversity, the concert will reportedly showcase acts from around the world.

The academy, which has been under fire for its lack of diversity, also changed the name of the award ‘Best World Music Album’ to ‘Best Global Music Album’.

The ‘GRAMMY’s Global Spin’ concert began back in 2020 and featured musical performances from artists across the globe. BI is said to be the first K-pop act and the first Asian artist to perform at the event.

In addition to BI, the K-Pop superstars wrote BTS history last year when they not only got their first Grammy nod, but also became the first Korean band to perform at the awards ceremony. The boys almost tuned in from Seoul to perform their hit single ‘Dynamite’.

BTS achieved their second nomination at the 2022 Grammy Awards. The band has been nominated for their hit song ‘Butter’.
