Update July 15 at 10:55 ET: It appears that Amazon has withdrawn the invitation requests at this time. Hopefully, this is a sign of more options for console deals, especially as the Xbox Series X continues to be more readily available.
The console rebuild scene has slowly improved over the course of a few months, with the Xbox Series S on sale pretty much anywhere, the Xbox Series X available without nearly as many issues as before, and even the PlayStation 5 becoming more reliable refill windows. What is still rare on the last two are any discounts or savings. But right now, if you shop fast, you might be able to get a deal on Xbox Series X from Amazon.
During their Prime Day hangover, the e-commerce giant allows you to request an invitation to purchase the Xbox Series X for $ 441.17 (though that’s a bit of a moving target since it was $ 443 a moment ago) . Request a product page invitation while signed in to your Amazon account, then keep an eye on your email to see if you’re one of the lucky ones selected. If you are, you have up to 72 hours to purchase your console.
We’ve seen Amazon invite requests for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 before, but never while extending a discount. I want to acknowledge that this may be a total crapshoot, but if you’re looking for an Xbox, you might as well try to save some money here. Then your first $ 60 game will be effectively free. Good luck!
